Junior Railway Event
Our Junior Railway Day is planned as a showcase of how young people, between the ages of 7 and 16, can participate in running passenger hauling trains at our club.
The event is open to all, adults included, so why not come along to Riverside and to find out how we operate our miniature railway.
If you are in the 7-to-16-year age group and would like to attend our event, then just complete the form below. Please ensure that a parent or guardian completes their part of the form below, as well as you.
Note that you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will act act as your supervisor while you are at the railway.
The day will start at 09.00 hrs with registration, followed by a short safety briefing, and then run through until 17.00 hrs. When you arrive, we will ask you to sign in as a day member of RMR to ensure that our insurance requirements are met. Only those pre-booked visitors who are signed in will be able to ride on or perform operations on the railway during the day.
We are hoping to be able to offer lunches at the Junior Railway Day, but details are still being finalised. Pricing information will be sent by email to registered attendees ahead of the event.
There will be an opportunity to stay at the railway into the evening and talk to everyone about the day, and how young people are encouraged to join in operating our railway.
There is a pay and display car park immediately adjacent to the railway at approx £4.00 all day, but there are also limited free parking spaces a short distance away. The ‘what three words’ reference for the free parking is: cowboy.trifling.grain
